South Texas Fall - the calendar says October 1st so we throw on our sweaters, jeans, and tall boots. We turn up the air conditioner, light our pumpkin scented candles - and then we melt as soon as we step outside. This is the coat I would wear on October 1st. It feels perfectly fall.
D108 is confusing and perfect at the same time. It has a rugged look to it, but it's more a mid to light weight than it is heavy like it looks. The colors are neutral, making it a great coat for guests or gifting.

I have an obsession with blankets. Beautiful, hand stitched, repurposed textiles speak to me. There's something special in wearing fabric that was intentionally made to protect and comfort someone.
The shape isn't tailored. It's not supposed to be. You're wearing a blanket. It's that good. And yes, there are pockets.
Your coat was made from a vintage kantha quilt. Saris or fabric remnants layered and bound with a running stitch.
