Blanket Coat A122

I can't remember where I put my keys or phone, I struggle with my best friend's names.  So, how do I remember the wallpaper in my own nursery? Pink with a running print of roses.  Just like the sweet patches of pink happiness on this coat.

My parents made sure I had the prettiest room to come home to after being adopted when I was a baby.  Months later for a follow up visit from the agency, my mom found the perfect dress for me.  A pink dress that came folded and pinned in tissue from a boutique.  The social worker picks me up from my crib and I cry, loudly.  My mom missed a teeny straight pin from the dress and it was pushing into me when I was held.  When she realized what she'd done - she was worried it would be reported.  Obviously, everything turned out fine.  I love that story, the effort that went into decorating my room and prepping for a flawless home visit.

This coat is from a heavier blanket.  It's going to be perfect for colder months when the calendar tells us it's spring but Mother Nature isn't quite ready to let things warm. It would also be the perfect coat for a mom to cuddle her baby in.

I have an obsession with blankets.  Beautiful, hand stitched, repurposed textiles speak to me.  There's something special in wearing fabric that was intentionally made to protect and comfort someone.

The shape isn't tailored.  It's not supposed to be.  You're wearing a blanket.  It's that good. And yes, there are pockets.

Every coat is one of a kind.  Made from vintage fabrics stitched by hand, your piece may have markings or worn areas that we find make our coats even more desirable.

Dry Cleaning or Spot Cleaning is recommended.

If you choose to launder your blanket coat, we suggest hand washing or washing on a delicate cycle.

Do NOT machine dry.
