She Has Hope

Kantha 0802

Approx 88"x108"

A lighter weight piece (I call it a Houston weight blanket - perfect for cuddling up with even when it's hot outside.)  It's soft, and one of those that will feel like butter after a few washings.  The bleached areas on the green side make for a fantastically unique look.  Yellows, greens, creams, and pinks but the tones come across as more muted to me.  This would be a wonderful piece in a child's room.  At the foot of a bed, or one to keep in a tote (a Sapana tote of course) and to use as an impromptu picnic blanket.  A tight running kantha stitch that will hold up well in washing.

...

Kantha comes from the Sanskrit word meaning rag. Saris or fabric remnants layered & bound with a running stitch.

The practice began in Bangladesh & India. Many makers believe the blankets provided protection from harm.
