Running stitches in perfectly parallel lines with a pattern of embroidered stars expertly spaced. I wish I could know the makers who took the time to make pieces like this. Who taught them the art of a kantha stitch? How long did it take to create this particular quilt? Did they choose this fabric for the dusty shade of purple or for the fun neon accents woven in the cotton background?
My imagination has a daughter sitting along side her mother watching her sew this piece. Hoping that one day she would be able to sew with precision and creativity like her mother.
0627 is embroidered but light weight. It's pockets are loose making it not reversible. The inside is brown and there are not holes for belting.
I have an obsession with blankets. Beautiful, hand stitched, repurposed textiles speak to me. There's something special in wearing fabric that was intentionally made to protect and comfort someone.
The shape isn't tailored. It's not supposed to be. You're wearing a blanket. It's that good. And yes, there are pockets.
Every coat is one of a kind. Made from vintage fabrics stitched by hand, your piece may have markings or worn areas that we find make our coats even more desirable.
Dry Cleaning or Spot Cleaning is recommended.
If you choose to launder your blanket coat, we suggest hand washing or washing on a delicate cycle.
