The coat went from the back of the closet to the front around mid-September. An entire outfit was planned around the purple and red kantha - black leggings, a crisp white button up, and tall black boots. It was a waiting game now. The weather forecast finally called for a cool front to blow in. The coat and the planned clothing moved from the closet and were laid out on the chair by the bed. The coffee maker was prepped, the alarm clock was set and double checked, phone was charging, keys found - funny how the perfect outfit can set the tone for the day.
D101 is lightweight and will drape beautifully as it's worn. Purple and red on the with a tan and orange print on the reverse.

I have an obsession with blankets. Beautiful, hand stitched, repurposed textiles speak to me. There's something special in wearing fabric that was intentionally made to protect and comfort someone.
The shape isn't tailored. It's not supposed to be. You're wearing a blanket. It's that good. And yes, there are pockets.
Your coat was made from a vintage kantha quilt. Saris or fabric remnants layered and bound with a running stitch.
