This coat is cotton candy pink. My nieces and nephews came into town and somehow, we got on the subject of raccoons. There's a video on the internet of raccoons being given cotton candy as a treat. When they go to wash it in the water ..... the look on their poor faces. Of course, the candy disappears. I mean, I'm glad they weren't able to eat the sugar they shouldn't have been given in the first place. But I know I've had that same look on my face before when my ice cream has fallen, or when I find that someone at the last bit of chocolate cake.

I have an obsession with blankets. Beautiful, hand stitched, repurposed textiles speak to me. There's something special in wearing fabric that was intentionally made to protect and comfort someone.
The shape isn't tailored. It's not supposed to be. You're wearing a blanket. It's that good. And yes, there are pockets.
Your coat was made from a vintage kantha quilt. Saris or fabric remnants layered and bound with a running stitch.
