Longest running 4th of July Celebration West of the Mississippi

There's just something about holidays and celebrations in a small town.

This will be 173rd year for this celebration in Round Top.  Expect to see flags and buntings decorating homes and shops the last week of June - everyone preparing and gearing up for the parade on July 4th.

Saturday, July 1st, The Compound will host its 7th annual Round Top Independence Day Spectacular.  The event begins at 6pm with live music from The Black Cat Choir.  Merritt Meats will be serving BBQ and drinks will be offered from Prost and Ellis Motel.

Bring your blankets and chairs for the fireworks display that starts at 9:15pm.  Admission is $20 per vehicle.

Sunday, July 2nd, Festival Institute is the place to be.  Their Summer Festival Orchestra students will host a patriotic performance in the concert hall from 3p - 4:30. Contact Festival Hill about tickets.  This will sell out fast!

Also, on Sunday the 2nd, Merritt Meats and Ellis Motel will be serving a Low Country Boil.  The event starts at noon and is over when the food is gone or 3pm whichever comes first.

July 4th is the big day!  At 10am, a cannon blast from Round Top Rifle Hall will start the parade.  Fire engines, Trail Riders, Longhorns, floats, and antique cars will make their way through town.  The parade goes right past our store!  Grab a seat early on our patio (bring your own chair).

Afterwards expect a feast at Rifle Hall.  Meals are $15 for BBQ and fixings. Live music too.

Small towns know how to celebrate!
