I’ve always loved the idea of a tiffin ... a traditional Indian carrier used to take homemade meals from place to place. Something practical made beautiful through daily use. These bags felt similar to me: easy to carry, useful every day, and better because they’re handmade and imperfect.

Dimensions

12.5” wide x 8.5” long x 4.5” high. Handle drop is 4.5".

This compact bag is ideal for daily essentials or a simple lunch on the go.

Reversible with an interior pocket.

Material

Every bag is one of a kind, made from a vintage kantha quilt. Layers of fabric bound by a hand sewn running stitch - your piece may have markings or worn areas that we find make our bags even more storied and unique.

Care

Spot cleaning or hand washing in cold water is preferred.

Returns

We want you to love your Sapana piece.  If you aren’t happy let us know.  We can process a return or exchange on new and unworn pieces within 10 days of purchase (or delivery if your item was shipped).

Let us know at sapana@sapanadreams.com if you have a return.  We will send you a shipping label and process your return once it’s received.  We credit the same account you used for purchasing.  Sometimes it can take 5-7 business days to see your credit applied.

STORY BEHIND THE BAG

A heritage-inspired carryall crafted from vintage kantha quilts, the Kantha Tiffin Bag is designed for everyday wandering.

Its compact shape is perfect for keys, a phone, sunscreen, or even a small lunch—named after the classic tiffin pails used to carry meals across India.

Reversible with an interior pocket, each one-of-a-kind bag blends function, storytelling, and sustainable craftsmanship.

  • We believe in preserving traditional handicraft techniques.

  • We believe that employment opportunities in rural areas make a significant impact.

  • We believe that we can connect through learning about other histories and cultures.

Crafted by hand. Rooted in story.

Every Sapana piece is a labor of love, handmade by artisans who carry generations of tradition in their hands. These pieces aren’t made in factories—they're created slowly and intentionally in rural communities, where each stitch creates opportunity and preserves culture. Sapana exists to honor these stories, to bridge worlds through craft, and to remind us that what we wear can hold meaning far beyond the material.
